journal

Shortly after that last post my cold became much worse, and by Monday night I was having problems breathing. I went to the Health Center and got a prescription for a decongestant but there wasn't much else they could do. In the end I didn't get well enough to drive home and see my family, nor do much of anything else during the entire week for that matter, as even trying to catch up on my reading made my head ache. This really wasn't the way I hoped to spend my spring break, but I suppose it's better to be sick when class isn't an issue.

I'd say I'm more or less back to normal now but I weighed myself yesterday and discovered that I've lost about seven pounds. This is sort of a big deal considering that my normal weight is already too low. Much of this week is going to be spent trying to regain that, because looking at my bony chest in the mirror brings back horrible memories of how skeletal I became during the last two rounds of chemo.

A few nights ago, Pharaoh, an avid fan of all things stringlike, knawed through the cable of my drawing tablet, severing two of the three festively-colored cords inside. Since then I've learned that the technical support people at Wacom are quite friendly, and the replacement cable I ordered was only about $25 including shipping, so I guess this is just another What A Silly Kitty story.
